Sophie girl

Sophie has loved coming to work with me a lot lately and is loving it! her birthday is in august and i thought we could celebratet ogether 🙂 if anybody wants to send anything special to sophie please let me know i would really love something for her to have new and special on her special day! she is goofy as ever although naughty sometiemes but shes so stinkin cute i cant help but not be mad at her about it anyways LOL hope you guys have an awesome weekend! enjoy!

Alright, well some of you know the full extent of what Sophie has been through in her short life. within the first 2 months of bringing her home she needed eye surgery for cherry eye. She was fixed at the same time so she had a rough vet experience then. She then got an eye infection after her surgery as well. After that is when the owee came from her kennel and she was injured for almost 2 months before we could afford the amputation. 3 vets told me to put her to sleep! i knew she wasnt ready! it wasnt her time! While she was on pain meds and unable to walk before she got help she fell trying to balnace and bit right through her tongue. She also fell and knocked a tooh out on the sidewalk falling on her face trying to balance that was after the surgery and while on pain meds. MOst recently we moved and she ran scared under our shed and had to be dragged out since she was stuck. She got a double eye infection and the vet says what looks like chemical burns maybe caused from something in the paint? They are not sure. She will now have a scar on her poor nose and eye. Now, to the fun part

Her birthday is next month….. after the fact that she has costed me a small… wait…no… not so small fortune there is not a lot i can do for her, but i was hoping this amazing community could help us celebrate? Would anybody like to join in? Show her life is good? Maybe send birthday cards? treats? toys anything pretty? new harness? or leash or anything really? bandannas/ anything? even a card for me to read? maybe could they include pictures of your 3 legged buddies to show her life is still good? (not that she doesnt think so) but i just want to show her one day what a princess feels like… with all she has been through in her short year can we all come together and help celebrate her life? the life i was told more than once to take away from her? Tripawds community I am calling everyone and anyone to help us celebrate LIFE!

SHE GOT A HAIR CUT!

Sorry I have not been on here much lately! I havent been on here because this blog is supposed to be all about SOPHIE! well the last couple weeks mommy has been so sick! dizzy spells, room spinning, head aches that dont go away…. and it has been really a RUFF couple weeks that have felt neverending… my garage sale plans for this weekend have been ruined because of weather again…. and they say we may even get SNOW yes i said the S word! next week! I am not happy about that at all!! I havent been able to afford to get sophie back to the vet as of yet… she did pee and poop all over her wrap and i was forced to take it off on Thursday (yesterday) and i was really in a bad spot then… her leg looked/looks so skinny and frail and it is scary and sad to see how happy she was and how good she was doing and fast she was moving with the splint thing on to now with it off her poor little leg is so weak looking and it really just makes me sad to see it ;( She has had to calm way down and have a little more crated time now which also sucks… her incision looks fine. I am not sure if stitches are in too long will they start to grow into the skin? i hope not! we were going to just cut them out at home, but i havent let my fiance do it yet.. I am waiting for life to cooperate with me here soon so I can get back to normal… things have just been so crazy and i have not really had a second to breathe!

On another note!! I keep going into chat and it just is not loading on my computer…. not sure if it is happening to anyone else, but it has been to me for a coupe days…

Well, it is actually a week since amputation on thursday! I have just been so busy! In order to get her amputation done we ran around like chickens with our heads cut off! We sold candy bars door to door and tried to ask for donations from everyone we knew! It finally worked out, but now we have a few mroe vet bills to pay! Being legally blind and on ssi,, does not leave much extra~ we are struggling just like anybody else so I am sure you all understand! I am sort of in panick mode at the moment because we have to bring sophie to the vet Thursday and I am not sure how we are going to cover it yet! was going to call and ask if it is okay for us tot ake stitches out ourselfs or see if we can wait longer or see what the deal is. Today we TRIED to have a garage sale/candybar sale for sophie fundraiser but it was SOOOO COLLDDDD!!! And then we got rained out! So now I am hoping the weather arms up a bit so i can try to figure out what the next steps are to get hr where she needs to and be all done with this part of our lives! Time to move on and be happy and healthy for a while! 🙂 Thanks all for reading! So today and last night have definitely given me a little taste of “the old Sophie” She has had so much spunk and energy and I am really enjoying seeing her personality shine through and not just a sad hurt injured puppy. She is getting better at walking and usuing her leg (although it is splinted straight) so it still is not how it will be in the long run, but she used to drag it, and now she is trying to hop with it. It is amazing how much she is keeping up with me. I usually take her out with me to go get the mail (which is accross the street) I will hurry and walk fast and get the mail and be back before she has even made it to the edge of the grass, well yesterday and today i have to not take or carry her with because she is right along side me the whole time! She has enjoyed her toys again! She ate really well for me today (yay!) One thing I noticed I find weird though is how much she has been pooping since surgery? Is that normal? It is normal poop, but looks pretty dark? Could she have gotten blood in it somehow fromt he surgery? It does not look bloody necesarely, just darker than I am used to seeing. Today I have felt sad for her a couple times though as I watch her try to figure out where her leg is…. She has been laying on her back rolling from side to side almost trying to figure out how it all works, and you can see her little stub moving randmoly like she is checking what it can do. Her incision is healing REALLY WELL! I read others saying the draining and such and hers does not have that. The redness and brusiing is almost all gone. There is a little bit of the fluid inside still but nothing like it was. Just wanted to share an update and good news about Sophie!

Wow I love this place! It was funny, I was talking to my fiance about the bruising, and all of a suddent it clicked in my head where to ask about it. I am like you know where I should ask about it? he is like no i wish i did.. im like i do! like a light went on in my head LOL 🙂 As far as the “seroma” it seems like that can be “normal” and it can be bad is that right? because it is only the first day, so for now i am having her wear the e collar, and making her stay as quiet as possible and hoping the antibiotics take care of any sort of infection. She is still doing well, and getting around pretty good! It still is so weird to me how she is walking on two legs (sorry i know i keep saying that) I just am like in aw of it I guess. When the wrap comes off I bet she is going to do so much better! I cant wait to take her for her first couple of walks and take her out and about around the town! I know people are all going to stop and want to pet her LOL. I know she is definitely going to love all that attention 🙂 That is FOR SURE! It is also werid watching her go potty, I was worried about that, like how will she keep her balance? etc… for going potty, but even with her leg splinted straight she is finding a way, and not falling over. The weirdest part about the hole experinece for me so far, is the fact that she now has three legs and is getting around better now than with the hurt forth leg. It really was starting to make her mad a lot! It was awful too because when we would take her potty it was in the way and she would get it all icky and she had to take way too many baths! I am excited and also ready to try to find a groomer that is willing to help us with her so she can get a pretty spring hair cut and hopefully a pretty bandanna too! Maybe bows in ears? Hmmmm maybe that is too much LOL (my fiance would say so) But sometimes I feel liek i said she is my little girl, my second LOL 🙂 ok…. again done ranting and for those of you still reading! Things are going well for sophie so far. She wanted to “fight” with me today just wanted to bite my hand (or anything we put in front of her face) LOL… I do have a couple questions though, one is it feels sort of like fluid in there right now, maybe it is just the way the muscle feels in there i dont know but just wanted to tell you guys that, and also it is starting to bruise pretty bad… is this normal? Other than that she is still doing awesome. She is wanting to be VERY picky about what she eats, but she just had a limb removed so we have been pretty good with still getting to eat although she is SPOILED! It is a gloomy day here and i am praying it does not rain since she has a splint/wrap on the good leg so we cant let her get it wet. I cant wait tilll that can come off and we can see how she does actually walking with 3 legs since right now she is honestly walking with 2!

Well everybody told me rest rest rest yesterday I only got 2 hours of sleep! I had so much going on. Now she is home, and doing well. She is in bed for the night YAY ME 😉 Now we can move on to day two! NOw I gotta get her nice and healed so we can get her a pretty new hair cut so she can feel so much better! The groomers havent been willing to take her sinc she got hurt ;( Anyways, rambling again…. Thanks for all the support, I have one question, but bumps in the road, and ups and downs what are the bumps and what are the downs that you all talk about? Just so I know and prepare myself for htem? Thanks so much to everybody!
